The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly going to engage with superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson in contract extension talks as soon as the 2024 NFL Draft is over. But in the meantime, the rest of the NFL is getting in ahead of the closing bell, before he resets the market.

Justin Jefferson price goes up for Minnesota Vikings after Eagles extend another star WR

We saw it in Philly a couple weeks ago, with DeVonte Smith and the Eagles. Then earlier this week , we saw the Lions extend Amon-Ra St. Brown. Then on Thursday evening, just before the draft started, we saw it again in Philadelphia, this time with AJ Brown, who is now scheduled to be the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.

No doubt, the Minnesota Vikings should have done whatever they could to get Justin Jefferson under contract last offseason, but it didn’t happen. All trustworthy reports so far say that the Vikings and JJ will indeed still find a common ground, soon after the draft is complete.

But whatever the price they were thinking prior to tonight, it just went up after AJ brown got nearly $90 million fully-guaranteed. But again, the Eagles were probably ok with that number because JJ was going to set the market higher anyway. Now… it’ll probably be a smidge higher than that.
