New York Jets Playmaker Makes Strong First Impression on Mike Williams
Denny Simmons / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

New New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams has seen this before.

Williams, fresh off signing with the New York Jets, believes that young wide receiver Garrett Wilson gives him the chance to recreate some of the glory he forged alongside another star receiver with the Chargers.

“I just felt like it was a great fit for me,” Williams told reporters. “Aaron, I want to be able to play with him. Pick his brain, learn from him. Playing alongside Garrett, kinda reminds me of Keenan a little bit. Similar style play, great route runners and I feel like we can complement each other in that area. The running game is pretty good, defense is elite so I just feel like we have a pretty good opportunity in front of us.”

New York Jets’ Offense Primed to Break Out After New Additions?

Wilson is an ascending talent and has played like one of the league’s top receivers through his first two seasons while catching 178 passes for 2,145 yards with seven touchdowns while averaging 12.1 yards per reception thus far in his career.

Now, the New York Jets finally have a receiving duo capable of being prolific and reliable for returning former MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Signing Williams coincides with the New York Jets adding an anchor along the offensive line to keep Rodgers upright by signing Tyron Smith to provide some direly needed stability at left tackle.
